Planning the Perfect Beach Wedding Ceremony

1. Pick the Right Time: Sunrise or early morning and an hour before sunset bring stunning lighting and cooler temps. Tides and weather patterns matter — I help couples plan for a smooth experience.

2. Pick the Right Place: Public beaches are the most crowded; public accesses are accessible, more natural and less traveled. Some resorts have both beach access and dining/catering options. Make sure to ask about hurricane damage and what a particular area is still struggling with – sometimes it takes years to recover from a natural disaster.  Many times one area is untouched and only a mile from one that was decimated.

3. Create a Meaningful Narrative: Every couple’s love story is unique. I personalize each ceremony so it reflects who they are, weaving in anecdotes, unity traditions, and heartfelt moments.

4. Design with Nature in Mind: Keep décor simple yet striking — think a simple sea oats and rolling waves backdrop or maybe add a driftwood arch, florals that pop against the ocean blues, and/or barefoot elegance.

5. While a good speaker works for your special song, sound systems may be needed depending on surf and wind. Ask us about live music -our musicians can provide beautiful guitar or violin in the background as well as amplification for the ceremony

6. Respect & Reflect the Setting: Beach-friendly attire, eco-conscious confetti alternatives (like flower petals or bubbles), and staying mindful of wildlife all make for a respectful celebration.

7. Let Your Officiant Guide You Regarding the Legalities: We know the ins and outs of beach permits, when and if one is necessary, where and how to (and what happens after the wedding) and guidance on changing your name.
